Hunt Council Commission Unveiled

Our supported employees at The Hunt Op Shop have recently completed another mosaic paver project for Kingborough  Council . It’s part of the "low hanging fruit" community art throughout Kingborough. These artworks were to celebrate and highlight the Kingston Wetlands and Whitewater Creek areas. Pavers depicte insects, water creatures and birds. Alison Jones, Mosaic Artist, assisted us with the finer details of the pavers. You can see the pavers in the footpath on the Southern Outlet between Channel Highway and John Street, on the Coles side of the road. Thank you Kingborough Council and in particular, Melissa Staples from KCC for involving our supported employees in this great public art.

Women's Health News

Do you see female patients who are wheelchair users and have never had a Pap Test because they can’t get on the

examination table? Or women who are not able to do their own breast examinations?

Female wheelchair users should have equal access to health checks.

Nurse Practitioner, Lyn, will be available for consultations at a regular clinic at the Hobart Women’s Health Centre at

The first clinic will be held on Wednesday 18th January 2012. Consultations are bulk-billed.

Grape A Fantastic!

The Grape A Fare was another huge success.

Over a hundred guests and assembled dignitaries enjoyed a vast range of fine wines and cheeses as well as a carnival of canapes fit for a king.

Thanks and congratulations to staff and students of Drysdale Institute for an excellent fundraiser and to the many wineries taking part.

Thanks to Chefs Waji and Vanidol for a canape cornucopia

Thanks to Mr Scott Bacon for supporting our cause and drawing the Grape A Fare Penfolds Grange Raffle.

Thanks finally to all who attended and all who supported the 2011 Grape A fare Grange Raffle The video below features pictures by photographer Lois Van Eimeren

Give Us Gumboots!

 gumboots

We need your old gumboots!! The supported employees at The Hunt make up old gumboots as really unique pot plant holders. They made one recently, put it in a local arts competition and won $100 for their effort! That’s $100 towards the $700 cement mixer they need. Now increased orders for more gumboot pot plant holders has run us out of used gumboots – ANY SIZE – ANY CONDITION (we’d prefer if you wash the cow/sheep dung off before you drop them into us!) Even if you live on Hobart side of the Southern Outlet, drop your gumboots off at CPTas 21 St John’s Avenue St John’s Park and we’ll get them to The Hunt.
