CP Register

The Tasmanian Cerebral Palsy Register (TCPR) collects information about people living with CP in Tasmania.  The Register helps us find out how many people have CP in Tasmania, which areas they live in, and whether there are changing trends in the incidence or severity of CP.  The Register also helps facilitate research into the causes, prevention and treatment of CP.

The TCPR is a project of Cerebral Palsy Tasmania, and was administered by the Menzies Research Institute during the first 2 years of operations.  We thank the Tasmanian Community Fund for providing the funding to implement this important project.

The goal of the TCPR is to have all Tasmanian children diagnosed with CP included on the Register.  Adults with CP may also be included if they wish.

Inclusion on the TCPR is completely voluntary, and you can provide as much or as little information as you choose.  The more information you provide, the more useful the Register will be in helping us to understand CP.

The TCPR will feed de-identified data (names, addresses, other identifying information removed) into the Australian CP Register, which is one of the biggest CP Registers in the world.

The success of the TCPR relies on those living with CP in Tasmania becoming involved.  If you have CP, or are the parent or carer of someone who has CP, please help us piece together the CP puzzle.
